5 out of 5 stars YUM!   September 28, 2008
I recently have gained weight but I did quit smoking!!!
I make this shake with 6oz of water and a lot of ice - I sometimes add a low calorie chocolate syrup for a little added yumminess! This will fill you up!!! honest! I eat it like a thick milk shake with a spoon!
I have one in the morning, eat a sensible lunch, have a very light dinner of veggies and a shake for dessert - Believe me Veggies followed by this shake .... will fill you up! Good Luck!

1 out of 5 stars bring back the original chocolate   August 15, 2008
I absolutely love the original chocolate. With the new double dutch chocolate the taste is not the only thing that changed. The texture and consistency when you mix the product is terrible and very gummy.

PLEASE BRING BACK THE ORIGINAL CHOCOLATE!!!

5 out of 5 stars Very Good   November 6, 2007
This is a great powder to use. I add skim milk and frozen berries, bananas, ice and ground flax seeds.. Taste Great!! Good with a Tbsp of peanut butter too.

5 out of 5 stars Tastes Chocalety, More Filling   November 1, 2007
I haven't used many diet shakes in the past so I don't have much to compare this to, but from my perspective it lives up to its claims as a meal replacement powder.

It doesn't exactly taste great, but the chocalatiness is unmistakeable and quite palatable, and it actually does reduce your hunger pangs by somehow making you feel full.

I use ice, cold water, and skim milk in a blender and it comes out at about the same consistency as a chocolate shake.

Chocolate shakes for breakfast, lunch, and of course a sensible dinner. Sounds good to me.

4 out of 5 stars An Excellent Meal Replacement For Dieting   September 9, 2007

I have been trying to diet for over a year. My doctor says that a low carb diet like Atkins is OK for me, but I drive all over a large county daily, and finding low carb meals is difficult. Packing a lunch is impractical, so I have been searching for a meal replacement which can be mixed with cold water and is tasty and filling enough to sustain me until dinner.

This product fills the bill very well. It is suitably chocolatey, low in carbs and calories, and low enough in lactose to not trigger my intolerance. I sweeten it with artificial sweetener, but it is tolerable if I happen not to have that along.

Nutrition wise, it is low in fat and high in protein. It is as satisfying to me as a cheeseburger and a milkshake. The vitamin and mineral content happens to be irrelevant to me, as I take a large time released multivitamin daily.

The packaging is the reason that I have deducted one star from the highest rating. The metal edge left once the top is removed is sharp and annoying when digging the scoop into a half-empty container. Also, the snap-on lid is loose and insecure, I gasket it with plastic wrap.

I use the product for breakfast and lunch Monday through Friday, eating a low carb, low calorie dinner. I stay in ketosis during the week that way, eating about 1200 calories a day. I eat three ordinary meals a day on the weekends, not counting carbs or calories. I am concerned with electrolyte balance and try to eat enough foods with potassium and calcium to assure that. I also drink a lot of water daily so that the fatty acids are diluted and do not cause problems.

All in all, I am pleased with the product and the results. My desire is to lose two pounds a week for the next year. I weigh myself each Monday morning and have lost nearly 20 pounds in 4 weeks. I realize that some of that loss is water weight, but I am comfortably meeting my goal and hope to continue. It is nice to look forward to a tasty snack in the evening and my favorite foods on the weekends. This is a diet I can live with.

As a bonus, the cost of using this product is under 3 dollars a day, cheaper than any fast food breakfast or lunch.
